03 of 5Things I built for myself, outside of work. Each has a full page: the situation, what was actually broken, how I attacked it, and what changed.
Most of the work is in the last ten percent — the packaging, the migration, the bug nobody could reproduce.
Right now I am a software engineer at Jashom Technologies, where I own release engineering for an Electron IDE — twenty-three releases shipped, Linux packaging for RPM and deb, an auto-update pipeline, and a Rocky 8 end-to-end harness of 113 specs. I led the Windows port of an app that had only ever run on Linux and macOS, and I built the local RAG backend and the interactive network topology engine that ship inside it.
Before that I wrote Go at GreedyGame, parallelising recursive graph traversals across worker pools for a cascading fraud-prevention system, and migrated five core microservices onto a Zanzibar-inspired IAM model. My first internship was full-stack: an enterprise CRM built on finite-state-machine workflows that took 60% of the manual work out of quotation, procurement and billing.
The things I build for myself run closer to the metal — a Windows terminal multiplexer in Rust, a keyboard-only desktop controller on a low-level input hook, a coding-analytics platform with its own editor extension. They exist because the tool I wanted did not exist, which is usually the only reason worth starting.
